Proposed edit edit
I feel some mention should be made, perhaps in the "Hardiness" section, of the verifiably widespread myth that the cockroach lacks ambulatory capacity in the absence of opportunities to ingest, via inhalation, heat-transformed particulates precipitated from plant matter that contains cannabinoids.[1][2][3][4][5] The connection between the two is evidenced by the fact that the stub of a marijuana cigarette has long been referred to as a roach, but this lends no credence to the claim of a specific physiological trait. I have, however, been entirely unable to discover a reliable source that directly refutes it, e.g. a scientific paper demonstrating that a cockroach can walk even when it doesn't have marijuana to smoke.
