Controversies section edit

The 'controversies' section includes two discipline-related incidents that did not involve legal action. They are much more editorial than encyclopedic. Doug 19:26, 26 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Revisiting this 16 years later --- the controversies section needs a big overhaul. I don't even think it should be called "controversies" per WP:Weasel. But apart from that, it has five sections in it. Three of them are from the 2005-2007 period (so, 16-18 years old). One is from 2002 (21 years old) and one from some period prior to 2009. It all sounds kind of crufty and WP:UNDUE now. I could re-write them to be much shorter but it would still just be five instances all of which are well over a dozen years old. That implies that nothing even remotely scandalous or interesting happened in the last dozen plus years. I don't know if anything has but its a big school district so that doesn't seem likely. Altogether, this is a very problematic section. Novellasyes (talk) 15:34, 25 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Need for Schools List edit

I agree with Adam; the list of schools is superfluous. A simple link to the school district Web site would more than suffice. The opening information about the district and the history of the legal issues should be left alone, because it is encyclopedic information. Doug 19:23, 26 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Perhaps better use of the schools list would include links either to the individual schools or links to the CCSD page listing the Elementary, Middle, and High schools. The list as is does happen to seem lengthy. Then again, it is a large school district. --Isis161 (talk) 21:01, 16 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

External Links edit

The external links to www.teachcobb.org was input as it is the Cobb County School District's official recruitment page. I included it in this article as it is sanctioned by this district as well as the official Twitter page for recruitment (www.twitter.com/teachcobb). This same rationale was used toward the inclusion of the Cobb County School District official Twitter page (www.twitter.com/cobbschools). This is another official outlet by the Cobb County School District and is another way by which the county shares official information including school closures due to weather, board meetings, and other pertinent information. --Isis161 (talk) 21:09, 16 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Elementary and Middle School edit

When I become autoconfirmed, should I make elementary and middle school articles? I am in the Cobb County School District, and some of those schools, one of them, I currently go to. Please reply on my talk. Thanks. The world is about to end... in 2012! (talk) 11:53, 14 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia!
The schools must be notable. This is not often the case for schools at that level.
Creating elementary school and middle school articles would not be useful. While you may be a responsible editor, most people your age think vandalizing middle school articles is hilarious. So editing is mostly confined to removing vandalism.
There are a lot of other articles that you might work on. Check some of the place articles near you for accuracy. It would be helpful if you used references to construct or amend new sentences. This is a bit tough at first, even for older editors.
Best of luck! Student7 (talk) 12:49, 16 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

The columns are heavily broken in the article. edit

I just wanted to note here that there are some broken columns, specifically after the elementary and middle school list. Can someone who knows how to format this fix the error please?

Never mind, fixed it. Someone forgot to end the multicol in the middle school section

edit

The school system decided that it would be good to use the symbol for the WWII Reichsbund der Deutschen Beamten as a new school mascot. So you can not only go to school with a mascot that looks like a Nazi symbol and but also have your teacher armed with an AK. Because school should just be conducive to learning in a prison... 24.252.27.156 (talk) 20:29, 21 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
