Early life Inegrated Schools edit

I also attended Alachua County Schools. My 5th grade class was inegrated, as were the classes thru high school graduation in 1972. In 1964 schools were inigrated under the freedom of choice act. In 1969 my Alachua County High School was integrated, we had a basketball team that consisted of black and white basketball players.

The true history is Clovis Watson choice was not to attend a school with whites.

It gets a little more complicated because no whites were interested in attending an all black school.

Mid year the black jr sr high school was closed moving all to the existing integrated schools.

It was not a good time, we had regular riots, protests from the blacks forced to move mid year to another school.

I am not suggesting the whole store needs to be told yet, it is misleading for his political biography to indicated that Alachua County Schools were not integrated in 1964. 2600:8807:C040:5C:ED01:C6FE:FC27:D4EE (talk) 16:49, 6 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
