Dezaiko Range edit

I'm not certain about this, but I'm pretty sure the Herrick Creek area where the Dezaiko Range is actually is part of the McGregor Plateau rather than the Rockies, i.e. in strict definition terms; most people probably consider the McGregor Plateau to be the Rockies, as it's topographically similar and more mountainous than plateau; I'm prepared to retract this statement, I just don't recall the Dezaiko Range as being a subrange of the Hart Ranges, which is the name of the grouping of the Northern Rockies south of Lake Williston.Skookum1 (talk) 03:51, 24 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

  • You could be right, altho I note that the map on Hart Ranges includes the Dezaiko Range (but excludes the McGregor Range). Ian mckenzie (talk) 16:09, 24 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
I"d have to look up Holland's boundaries in Landforms of British Columbia, I"m not sure he mentions the Dezaiko in relation to its parent, but I know he gives the river-pass boundaries for the McGregor Plateau.....I'm not at home but on a public computer so don't have the PDF of his book handy....Skookum1 (talk) 22:03, 24 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
  • It could be that part of the McGregor Plateau is also within the Northern Rockies, a classification overlap if you will. If not tho, you should also consider changing other topics such as Canadian Rockies which lists the Dezaiko Range under Mountain Ranges/Northern Rockies. Curiously the topic Northern Rockies does not list the Dezaiko range, but it does list Close To The Edge Provincial Park. There are of course also many other references on the internet, such as Bivouac.com Canadian Mountain Encyclopaedia, which list the Dezaiko Range as within the Northern Rockies - a big job to clean it all up, if that's what it comes to.
