Latter Day Claudius Lysias's I, II, and III

For the sake of possible interest: In January 1856, Alabama Supreme Court Chief Justice William Parish Chilton (1810-1871) retired from the bench and entered discussion with William Lowndes Yancey about being equal partners in a law firm. Four months later, Wm. P. Chilton's ninth child was born. The name given to him (155 years ago TODAY) was Claudius Lysias Chilton. The name was peculiar then, and is peculiar today when retrieved by the BOOKS search engine on Amazon.com, either alone or in association with Edward McKendree Bounds.

The name played a serious part in Claude Chilton's calling to the evangelical Ministry of the Methodist Episcopal Church, South: begun 1878. In 1879 his first child was born, a male named Claudius Lysias Junior. Valedictorian at Vanderbilt in 1900, Junior was also ordained into the Methodist Episcopal Church, South. Claudius Lysias Chilton First died in 1914. Rev. Claudius Lysias Chilton Second married in 1915 and in 1917 his wife gave birth to Claudius Lysias Chilton Three.
