A press release is public but I'm currently re-writing the text so please do not delete. Benzocaine 15:10, 1 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

I have now re-written the article. Even though the facts are from the press-release (it would not be any article whatsoever if I removed those facts, and the facts themselves can not be copyrighted) the words are now my own. Thus it should no longer be a candidate for removal. I have removed the template "Candidate for quick removal" but user Sceptre has put it back. It seems needless to start a "war" removing and restoring the template so I write this comment instead. Please do not remove this article, since it refers to a person who has a degree of significance in the secular community. /Benzocaine 16:42, 1 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Notability edit

There is now a "template of notability". What does this mean? Clark Adams is listed as President Emeritus in the article about Internet Infidels. If II is considered imporant enough for inclusion in Wikipedia, so should it's presidents. He was also co-founder of the Secular Coalition for America which is considered important enough for inclusion. I find it outrageous that an article about Clark Adams is considered for removal because he is not important enough. /Benzocaine 17:26, 1 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

It's just a cleanup template. If you haven't already, I'd suggest you read over the guidelines at WP:BIO. The main thing the article needs are sources. NickelShoe (Talk) 17:47, 1 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
I just added some references. Is this the kind of sources you guys are asking for? /Benzocaine 18:09, 1 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
That's definitely a good start, although message board postings aren't really considered reliable sources. Another thing to consider is that to establish notability, the sources should be independent of the man and about him (as opposed to merely mentioning him). Print sources would also be good if you can come up with some (you might try LexisNexis or something if you have access). NickelShoe (Talk) 19:37, 1 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
I've added the reference to Who's Who in Hell, a large print book of notable atheists, freethinkers, and humanists which contains a multi-sentence entry for Clark Adams, to establish notability. I suspect there are published references to Clark in many freethought publications, such as Freethought Today, the monthly publication of the Freedom From Religion Foundation. With Lippard's reference to Who's Who in Hell, I've removed the Notability tag from the article. Please feel free to put it back if the article is still not good enough. /Benzocaine 19:47, 24 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Visibility edit

This page is still "invisible" on Wikipedia, i.e. if you link to it you link to the edit page and it is not seen on the search page. Shouldn't it be made visible after my recent contributions? /Benzocaine 19:00, 1 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

I'm not entirely sure what you mean, but the article is not in any kind of holding bin. If you can read the article, so can anyone else. NickelShoe (Talk) 19:32, 1 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
Apparantly I had named the article Clark adams with a lowercase "A" in Adams. Someone has corrected it now and renamed the article. /Benzocaine 20:03, 1 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Stanhope edit

He wasn't "mentioned," he deliberately postponed his suicide so he could see Stanhope's show, and stanhope dedicated a whole track to him called "Goodnite, Clark Adams." I'm changing it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 125.238.170.69 (talk) 03:27, 16 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

There is an RfC on the question of using "Religion: None" vs. "Religion: None (atheist)" in the infobox on this and other similar pages.

The RfC is at Template talk:Infobox person#RfC: Religion infobox entries for individuals that have no religion.

Please help us determine consensus on this issue. --Guy Macon (talk) 18:15, 21 April 2015 (UTC)Reply
