Clarence WilliamsClarence Williams (disambiguation) — Based on the article traffic tool, this is the proper move along with a redirect to Clarence Williams III. —TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTD) 13:56, 9 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

  • Support as nominator based on article traffic tool.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTD) 13:57, 9 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose. Moving a dab page from the primary name space needs a clear and convincing case that there is a primary topic. I'm not seeing that case here. The tool used is questioned as not producing results that can be used for decisions here in several other related nominations. Vegaswikian (talk) 08:19, 13 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

  • Oppose. Mutliple important people we have articles on are named "Clarence Williams"; having it as a disambiguation is appropriate. -- Infrogmation (talk) 23:38, 13 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose as per above. If anything, move to Clarence Williams (disambiguation) and redirect Clarence Williams to the disambiguation page--Nobunaga24 (talk) 04:47, 14 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose using the stats tool as the sole basis for determining a primary topic is solipsistic. At the very least there needs to be a broader discussion of the appropriateness of using that tool. olderwiser 18:31, 15 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
  • Weak support. I would rather have more evidence than just the tool, but Clarence Williams III does seem to be the primary topic in my opinion. Dan1980 (talk ♦ stalk) 18:32, 15 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose, any discussion involving this many different things being disambiguated needs much stronger reasoning for primary disambiguation. The crude tool being used here is of no significance standing alone. Gene Nygaard (talk) 10:33, 21 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
    • A couple of factors that enter into this are 1) having to follow one link to get to the article you want is routine; having to follow two or more to get there is an annoyance, and 2) having the ambiguous name as a disambiguation page makes maintenance of links much simpler (it's hard to distinguish the inappropriate ones when an article which should have its own links also includes some that should go somewhere else). As I mentioned above, having the disambiguation page as it is makes maintenance of the links much simpler. But it still needs to be done, and this article has many incoming links in need of disambiguation. Maybe somebody should take the time to do it, and then report back to us exactly how many of them go to which article, and how many of them don't fit any of the existing articles and instead serve as an indication of possible future articles as yet unwritten. Gene Nygaard (talk) 10:55, 21 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

From a quick look, the majority of the diambiguated links to Clarence Williams appear to be for Clarence Williams (musician). -- Infrogmation (talk) 16:10, 21 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
