Enumeration of civil and political rights edit

There has been some slight edit warring lately regarding the enumeration of civil and political rights here.

First of all, I'd like to point out that this is really not the place for that battle to be happening; take it to Civil and political rights proper, this is just a disambiguation page.

But as to the content of this dispute itself, which seems to focus mostly around the inclusion of "protection against discrimination based on ... sexual orientation" as a civil right, I've reverted the page to still include it, unless someone can provide some source as to why it should *not* be included, as the list is of things the likes of which are protected against discrimination by civil rights, and in some countries (AFAIK) sexual orientation is protected.

However, again, please take this dispute to Civil and political rights, which is where the list on this disambiguation page originally came from.

Thank you. -Pfhorrest (talk) 20:12, 7 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Someone just removed sexual orientation from the list again on the grounds that it is not a protected class. While I really don't care anymore (please take this to Civil and political rights!) I'd like to point out that it is in fact a protected class in some jurisdictions. Quick and dirty Google source: [1] -Pfhorrest (talk) 20:37, 12 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Moved edit

This article is now qualified as "(disambiguation)", and civil rights now redirects directly to civil and political rights with a dab hatnote pointing back here. --Pfhorrest (talk) 21:59, 21 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
