Merge with Shock
editThis article is somewhat confusing. It seems to try to be abstract, differentiating itself from shock by allowing for the deficit to be due to the provision of nutrients and/or removal of metabolites. However, if the deficit is in provision of nutrients other than related to shock, i.e. hypoxia but not removal of metabolites (type 1 respiratory failure) or removal of metabolites again other than shock i.e. type 2 respiratory failure.... neither have anything to do with "circulatory collapse". The circulation is working as intended. The content of the article simply lists causes of shock (as well as shock itself) as causes of circulatory collapse. Bizarre! It is of generally low quaility, perhaps it should simply redirect to shock? Maybe it is of historic value i.e. an outdated concept superceeded by shock 92.40.174.222 (talk) 23:03, 1 August 2020 (UTC)

The elephant in the room
editNowhere on the page does it specify if the condition can cause death. It seems reasonable considering it's called "circulatory collapse", but death is neither mentioned nor implied anywhere in the lead or the "Effects" section. Prinsgezinde (talk) 21:19, 9 February 2021 (UTC)
