"Fort Churchill is a rocket launching complex located in Churchill, Manitoba" The rocket launch facility (Churchill Research Range)is located about 10 miles east of Fort Churchill. The townsite of Fort Churchill was built as a military community. It lies just a couple of miles east of Churchill, the original community and deep-sea port at the mouth of the Churchill River on Hudson Bay.
