Winter snow pack and electricity

For those who may have trouble corelating snow packs with conservation of electricity. The melting snow provides water for hydroelectric power which is a major source of Southern California energy.

Narrative restored

In view of the postings placed by the Wikipedia editors on this article, I have restored the story to a factual, objective, and depersonalized narrative. It yet lacks citations, but it is rid of the grossly twisted accounts put up by certain pirates who shall remain unnamed.--Magi Media (talk) 04:35, 6 August 2008 (UTC)

Mr. Manning- I have restored the narrative to include the stunning accomplishments of those who came after your presidency. please do not continue to attempt to reduce their accomplishments by eliminating them or calling those who post them "Pirates". As you know a pirate is a person of low moral values and general assumed criminality. I have served on the Board of CTLA from the hour you left in 1994 until 2004 and from 2008 until my present term is up. If you continue to erase these factual neutral posts to your own ego enhancement I will be sending Affidavidts to Wiki about them from Past and present CTLA board members along with documentation of your efforts after your presidency to do harm to the lane. Hi, yikes, both of you! Please be aware that Wikipedia has a policy on Conflict of Interest, and please consult it, at wp:COI. I am not looking at it right now, but I recall it basically says that editors who are involved with the topic of an article are in a position of COI. You are not prohibited from editing, but you should defer to others and in particular not edit war against the changes by non-COI editors. The wikipedia article is not the place for assertions about an association's accomplishments, unless those are of encyclopedic importance and documented in reliable sources (see wp:RS). Newsletters, webpages, other documents of an association can possibly be used, carefully, but not for questionable or controversial assertions. I am not sure what is controversial here yet, those are just my general cautions.

Christmas Tree Lane is clearly wikipedia-notable, in part as its notability is documented by the NRHP listing. But unsourced statements can and perhaps should be removed by other editors, or could be cleaned up with in-line citation sourcing. Perhaps I or some other non-involved parties could edit this article. Are there sources, on-line or off-line (hopefully sources that might be available at a local public library, say), that could support info that is in the article or that could be added? I note that passages in the article appear verbatim on the CTLA webpages. So I think technically either the wikipedia article is in copyright violation, or the CTLA webpages are in copyright violation, as neither site's material is in the public domain. If the CTLA is the original source of these passages, the organization could possibly release that info under Wikipedia's GFDL license (or maybe in some legal fashion it has by writing the info in here). But it's a mess, and there's too much detail. I am inclined to edit down this article severely, leaving links to the CTLA webpages for more info for interested readers. doncram (talk) 23:39, 12 October 2009 (UTC)
