Shorten/Split Article edit

Split Article is too long and should be split off and shortened--Jax 0677 (talk) 18:46, 3 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

No split. Taking for example Cue Sports. China in Cue Sports in the 2010 Asian Games just isn't notable and would be deleted. There is far more detail here than in the section on cue sports. I think this article should be pruned, severely. Given how long the split tag has been there and the little interest it has gained, I will substitute an improve tag instead. Op47 (talk) 21:31, 13 July 2012 (UTC) I would have changed it, but it is far to long to even be edited!!! Op47 (talk) 21:43, 13 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Jax0677, I note that you have already split off A-B. This confirms my suspicion that this is not the way to go. There is already a too long tag, splitting the article in this way does not practically reduce the length of the article, rather it creates several overlength articles that are now even harder to read. For example, I would never have thought of looking for swimming under A. Consider the cricket section for example, there is no information here (apart from the team list perhaps) that is not in the article Cricket at the Asian games. Maybe reduce the section to read: China presented a mens and a womens cricket team. The men reached the quarter finals and the women the semi finals. The teams were: ...

On second thoughts, there is a very neat summary table at the top of the article. Maybe we should just settle for that. Op47 (talk) 22:24, 15 May 2013 (UTC)Reply
