Line Ending edit

The line form Elizabeth city to the Weeksville Coast Guard Station is abandoned, however, tracks and signals remain in place.

The current terminus of the line is a warehouse and a small power substation in Edenton at E. Freemason st. (track unmapped, boxcars visible December 2006 at the warehouse siding) The line continues south to its physical terminus a quarter mile south at NC HWY 32. The crossing signals and tracks are in place but the rails have been paved over. Rails and trestle in place south of HWY 32, but the rails and ROW are obliterated just south of the trestle. The ROW is clearly visible in the Cape Colony area and even rails are visible at the former crossings. Power lines follow the abandoned ROW. It is possible to drive up to the point of the long gone Albemarle sound trestle that went to Mackeys Ferry.

The spur (mapped) that continued along Broad St is abandoned as well, however tracks remain in place for the most part.
