Tone and Style edit

It looks like there must be a paragraph missing or something, it just starts out they went to this bluegrass festival get their minds off the tragedy. What tragedy? The whole article sort of has this provincial chatty style, like a family newsletter. An encyclopedia is a little different. This is not to deprecate the family talents, those are tremendous. Let's get this straightened out. I volunteer to help Friendly Person (talk) 03:31, 20 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

One more son edit

The Cherryholmes actually have one more son (making a total of six children), according to Jere Cherryhomes himself. He is not in the group, and is married. I think he is the eldest. That's all I know about him.

Yes, the Cherryholmes family does have one more son and, yes, he is the eldest. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 151.152.101.44 (talk) 02:16, 15 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Article mentioning other son edit

Under this heading was an article quoted in its entirety, a clear violation of copyright. I hate to delete anything on a talk page, but it was an inappropriate (not to mention illegal) use of someone else's copyrighted work. Mitchell k dwyer (talk) 19:36, 21 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

What tragedy? edit

The family decided to get away for a weekend to maybe get their minds off the tragedy, and so they decided to go to a Bluegrass Festival.

Get their minds off of what tragedy, exactly? 71.171.246.105 (talk) 21:30, 4 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

The tragedy was the death of oldest child Shelly. This is why Jere took the family to a bluegrass festival and how they got started as a musical family. They would tell this story at some of their concerts and it should be included in the article. Here's one reference that mentions this: https://www.aspentimes.com/news/cherryholmes-a-new-kind-of-family-bluegrass-band/ HughNo (talk) 04:28, 11 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
