Initial Issues edit

This profile of Charlemagne Tower seems to have mixed together elements of the life of Charlemagne Tower Sr., lawyer and mining magnate, with the events of his son's life, Charlemagne Tower Jr., ambassador. I'll have a go at sorting it out when I have a chance.MarmadukePercy (talk) 02:41, 31 March 2008 (UTC) I'd also like to have a go at explaining how someone came by the name Charlemagne! lol MarmadukePercy (talk) 00:20, 1 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Excellent job on reworking this page! Many thanks!MarmadukePercy (talk) 22:40, 4 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Just to let everyone know, I'm in the midst of working up a complete overhaul of this article. I want to go more into his early law practice, activites in PA, what he did during the Civil War, etc. Hope to have it up in a few days. Bowie60 (talk) 11:29, 19 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Complete Overhaul edit

Well, what do you think?  :) Bowie60 (talk) 19:51, 23 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Looks great. My only suggestion would be at least a mention in passing of Tower's abiding interest in his family's early Massachusetts roots. Otherwise, very nice! Regards,MarmadukePercy (talk) 20:07, 23 May 2008 (UTC) As far as I know the only book Tower authored was his "Tower Genealogy" published posthumously.MarmadukePercy (talk) 21:47, 24 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
After scanning it the only thing that is sore to the eye is those cap locked sentences, Tazz (talk) 23:23, 10 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
Great work on the article! As someone who is experienced in producing WP:GA and WP:FL content, I would recommend using inline citations for your references. See WP:Citing sources for more details. But keep it up, you are on the right track! Cheers! RyguyMN (talk) 04:30, 11 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Multiple Daily Edits edit

Sorry for the large number of edits that I make to this article daily. I really only have time to do this while at work, and I often only have time to make a couple of changes before I have to do another project. Please bear with me, and thanks! Bowie60 (talk) 14:32, 12 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

You've done good work here, Bowie. My only suggestion, concurring with a previous poster, is to give some in-line citations (footnotes) for some of the good stuff in the article. Also, I've added an external link for the Tower genealogy, available in full on Google books. Regards,MarmadukePercy (talk) 20:05, 11 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

georgenna burdick tower hammond edit

hi...can anyone share with me what ever happened to charlemagne tower jr....i have some information on his "divorce" from georgenna burdick, and would love to know what happened to him after they parted ways.....she referred to him as charlemagne jr but he may have been the third...i know they were married june 7th, 1911 in new haven, ct.........thanks (Nurse52 (talk) 13:33, 13 July 2008 (UTC))Reply

You are correct, Charlemagne Tower Jr., as he was called, would probably be called Charlemagne Tower III today. He was born in about 1889 and had two brothers, Geoffrey Tower (born in about 1891) and Roderick Tower (born in about 1892) and two sisters, Helen S. Tower (born in about 1895) and Gertrude Tower (born in about 1897) according to the 1910 U.S. Census.

The Charlemagne Tower in this Wiki article was actually Charlemagne Tower Sr., the grandfather of Charlemagne Tower Jr. The missing Charlemagne Tower (II) was born 17 Apr 1848 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and died 23 Feb 1923.

Charlemagne Tower (II) had five sisters, Sarah (born abt 1850), Deborah (born abt 1851), Emma (born abt 1852), Henrietta (born abt 1857), and Grace (born abt 1859) according to the 1860 U.S. Census.

A similar thing happened with the family of President Theodore Roosevelt who's father was Theodore Roosevelt, but President Theodore Roosevelt's son is usually referred to as Theodore Roosevelt Jr. Tfrancell (talk) 11:33, 11 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
