Hi! I hope you don't mind the edits I've made. One of the things I changed was the wikilink pointing to LACQUERWARE; it now points to LACQUER because that article seemed more appropriate -- particularly because there's a picture of Channapatna-made whistles right at the top of the page! Oops! Forgot to say I had a question about the Aale mara wood. Is that an Indian word? If so, perhaps you should say that somewhere. It would be nice to know what type of tree "Ivory Wood" comes from (there are apparently several trees around the world called "Ivory Wood", and the article doesn't say which one is used! - I hadn't noticed that you'd changed the link from lacquerware to lacquer, as I've just changed it back without noticing your comment. Anyway, I think lacquerware is more appropriate because the Channapatna toys actually are lacquerware. By the way, I've also found the scientific name.--Pharos 20:14, 26 April 2007 (UTC)

We should also have more on the specific traditions of the toymaking and the traditional forms used. The article is currently a bit generic.--Pharos 17:22, 26 April 2007 (UTC)
