Name today edit

Ok I am a little confused, is Chance Morgan or Chance rides still in operation today? Or are both? If only one is, it needs to be cleared up when it was either merged or disassembled. --Astros4477 (talk) 13:39, 16 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

The Chance Morgan Division still exists. Chance Rides encompasses Chance Morgan Inc. and Chance Rides Manufacturing, and everything from the Morgan product line is still supported JlACEer (talk) 14:07, 16 January 2012 (UTC)Reply
Michael Chance expected to sell mostly coasters with this new company, but that never happened. It's unfortunate that over the last decade the Chance Rides were marketed under the Chance Morgan name as that is where most of the confusion occurs. In reality the Chance Morgan brand was just supposed to be Roller Coasters, but most of what was sold were actually products of Chance Rides. — Preceding unsigned comment added by JlACEer (talkcontribs) 15:38, 16 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Ferris Wheels edit

Chance rides has been building wheels since it acquired Herschell in 1970. It's kind of misleading to create a new category then list only two projects, when in fact they have probably built 50 or more wheels. Since these two are very large wheels and are substantial projects I can see leaving them in, but not with the heading Ferris Wheels (unless someone wants to list all the Chance Wheels).

Also for reasons I have yet to fully research, none of the wheel manufacturers (Schwarzkopf, Eli Bridge, Chance, BV Carousel, Nauta Bussink, Wagner Biro) call their projects "Ferris" wheels. Something about someone still owning the rights to the "Ferris" name. And since this is a site about a manufacturer, we should use the terminology that the manufacturer uses.JlACEer (talk) 00:50, 17 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

I've changed the heading back, as Ferris wheel is obviously the name by which they are commonly known. Note also that the two examples listed are not the same size. 92.40.88.41 (talk) 01:20, 17 January 2012 (UTC)Reply
