Bringing the page up to date

I suspect several sections are out of date or are not using the proper names.

The Violence Prevention program proper name is: "RespectEd: Violence Prevention" (see www.redcross.ca).

Family Links is also referred to as "Restoring Family Links" (see www.redcross.ca), although I understand the names to be interchangable.

The Controversy trials have ended (AFAIK) with acquittals for the defendants. See:

Should we go ahead with updating then based on the above information? - 209.171.43.194 (talk) 18:46, 16 January 2008 (UTC)

  • It would be nice; I find the statement "it had irresponsibly,[3], and knowingly [4] supplied tainted blood to patients." quite NPOV, especially when the pages referring to the Tainted Blood Scandal and the Krever Inquiry themselves do not use such potentially slanderous wording. At the very least, the citations should be updated, since #3 is now no longer a link to anything, and #4 refers to the CRC "knowing of a test that could detect Hepatitis-C" - 'knowing of a disease which may or may not be present in accepted blood and not using a new test to detect same' is not nearly the same as "knowingly supplying confirmed tainted blood". As well #4 is from 2003, and the three citations above are from 2007; the latter show acquittals for "wanton and reckless disregard for human life", as well that "Perrault faces a second trial on several more criminal charges that allege the Red Cross and senior officials did not take adequate measures to screen blood donors." as of October of last year; at the pace this is proceeding, it is clear that "irresponsibly and knowingly supplying tainted blood to patients" is NOT yet certain; we must remember that Wikipedia is not a crystal ball. - Empath (talk) 07:23, 30 September 2008 (UTC)
