What does it mean to be "seemingly soft on the surface"?

Indeed, it's a babel-fish translation of the French article. I have made the introduction and the translations of the Camus quotes more readable and eliminated some irrelevant stuff; the article should now convey at least a basic understanding of the play. But the article needs to be rewritten, and the French one is apparently no help - it has no real citations and makes claims like "Often staged in France and elsewhere, Caligula will be the most durable success of Camus' stage works." But this is probably a job for someone who's familiar with the play, not just an English-speaker starting to read it in French class! 65.96.162.68 (talk) 23:50, 27 January 2009 (UTC)
