I just put a pov tag. It looks to me we should work toward this. The pros and cons, the litigation, etc... This may be a difficult task, but still. [[User:Bruguiea] 14:52, 26 May 2006 (UTC)

I don't think that the POV tag should be there unless you have issues with specific section of the article. Dexter Kofa 14:52, 26 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Instead, i would say it needs one of those tags alerting on fast-changing subjects (can't remember the name of the tag).capi 17:54, 25 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Only one essay question? edit

New user, was just wondering what sorts of articles to look at, and this one came to mind. It's definitely a good start, but if anybody else is interested, I'm sure there's more for us to add, here. My first question here is... I know we're not supposed to use original research, but I took this thing in '02 or '03, and I remember for sure there were two essay question on the English portion. The California DOE website says there's only one, maybe that was changed? I'd just feel more comfortable if somebody else verified this. Luna Santin 15:38, 9 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

To answer my own question, yes, that's been sourced. ;) – Luna Santin (talk) 23:13, 6 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Proposed rewrite edit

Just FYI, I've proposed a very major overhaul to the article; see the proposed version here (permalink). Comments or suggestions are welcome; if nobody responds within a few days, I'll go ahead and paste over the old version. Luna Santin 10:02, 7 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

It looks very good to me. User:Bruguiea 13:55, 7 July 2006 (UTC)Reply
Done and done (diff). Thanks for your previous work, it helped me out quite a bit. Luna Santin 18:29, 8 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Erroneous Dates? edit

The article says that the exam "was first taken by volunteer freshmen from the class of 2004, in October of 2001." But the Davis Senior High School graduating class of 2002 had to take this exam in October 2000, or a similar exam that was described as a "new high school graduation requirement for the state of California". 75.26.166.176 01:35, 29 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, I could have sworn I had to take a HSEE when I graduated back in 1995...I was in LAUSD FWIW. jengod 20:06, 27 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
Online sources make it seem as though CAHSEE is a completely new concept. In reality, California has required a test for kids to graduate since around 1960 or 1970. Like the others, I don't know what it was called, but I do remember seeing official nationwide pamphlets once, and they did state the names of each state that required such standards to obtain a high school diploma. The CAHSEE is simply an updated version of the state's mandatory exit exam, not a completely new concept. Dasani 08:27, 24 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
All of you are just riding on nostalgia. In reality, exit exams were most likely given in LAUSD itself, but in the cities in LA County, they never offered CAHSEE (or similar tests) until Class of 2006 for public American high schools. In the San Gabriel Valley, kids graduating as recently as 2005 in the respective high schools did not take the CAHSEE as a graduation requirement. 75.16.77.191 (talk) 02:09, 7 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
Actually the entire class of 2004 had to take it as it was the original requirement year, but was revoked after most failed to pass it.--174.45.204.124 (talk) 09:01, 15 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
