Merger with Inverness Thistle edit

I've got to query the last couple of sentences in this section - the stuff about the (relatively) new merged club's crowds being low and comprising mainly schoolkids and incomers from the Central Belt and further south + local media covering up, despite the "facts and figures speaking for themselves". The rest of the section is accurate and fairly covers the controversy and, indeed, resentment that the merger of the two Inverness clubs caused at the time. These last two sentences were added, I suspect, by someone who "2 decades on" is still unhappy about the merger.

I can't think of any source/evidence to back up the supposed facts in these these two sentences, so I've added a 'citation needed' tag to them. I'm not sanctimonious enough myself to simply delete this content without giving others the opportunity the verify/add sources (although plenty are!) - maybe someone, somewhere, out there has the "facts and figures" that the contributor says "speak for themselves".... — Preceding unsigned comment added by ShugSty (talkcontribs) 11:03, 30 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Opening statement edit

Similar to a point I made at Talk:Inverness Thistle F.C. I think there could be an issue with saying "Caledonian Football Club was a Scottish football club from the city of Inverness". Inverness did not gain city status until 2000, so during the lifetime of Caledonian it was not a city. Therefore I think it would be safer and more accurate to delete the words "the city of" and just say "from Inverness". However I would welcome others' opinions on this matter. I would also note looking at the articles for Inverness Citadel F.C., Inverness Union F.C. and Inverness Celtic F.C., all of which folded before Inverness gained city status, simply say something like "X was was a football team from Inverness, Scotland", so I think there is precedent for not including the word city under these circumstances.
