Talk:CEO (Data General)

Product name? edit

In the lead paragraph and in the infobox title, this article refers to the product as "CEO Office", a redundant phrase analogous to saying "PIN number". But I can't find any evidence in any of the articles cited that it was ever actually called "CEO Office". What seems to be most common is to use "Comprehensive Electronic Office (CEO)" on the first mention, then switch to just "CEO" for subsequent mentions. Most of our article also refers to it as simply "CEO". From what I've been able to discern so far, "CEO Office" seems to be an erroneous term invented for, and only used in, this article. -- FeRDNYC (talk) 23:29, 29 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

And in fact, now that I've looked over the revision history of the article, I've concluded that "CEO Office" was an editorial flub. The original lead sentence opened, CEO (Comprehensive Electronic Office) Office software from Data General..., which a few revisions later was edited into the "CEO Office (...)" form. But that second "Office" should never have been there. So, I've rewritten the lead sentence and adjusted the infobox accordingly. -- FeRDNYC (talk) 23:47, 29 March 2020 (UTC)Reply
