Article title edit

Mononyms are interesting; if a songwriter/producer wants to be listed a certain way with an unusual spelling and/or punctuation (like PSY) then we should respect their pseudonym and the title page should reflect that. But when it comes to an encyclopedia the real name of the person should be listed and identified within the article; that's the difference between credits and a resource which is suppose to give you factual information. This whole "going by the last name without capitilization" thing seems incorrect and inaproppriate for an encyclopedia. His first name and correct caps should be used, whether or not he likes going by this odd presentation of his name. As an example, RnB artist JoJo performs under that name, but her songwriting credits are to her original un-altered name of Joanna Levesque. CloversMallRat (talk) 03:14, 26 May 2010 (UTC)

Possibly but there are also many writers who go by the name the are professionally known as. Should that not be the choice of the writer? To my knowledge, unlike JoJo", "busbee" is actually credited on records as "busbee." so, the "busbee" wikipedia page should reflect that. It is not our place as the encyclopedia community to attempt to rewrite credits, correct? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 166.137.137.208 (talk) 01:49, 1 June 2010 (UTC)

They can go by whatever name they want, but this here is an encyclopedia and here he will be 'Michael Busbee' mostly in terms of page title. If he really goes by that variation, it can be mentioned within the article. But under no circumstance is 'busbee, the American Songwriter/Record Producer' an appropriate form of page title here. CloversMallRat (talk) 17:01, 3 June 2010 (UTC)

I agree...the page title should just be "busbee" but because of the fact that wikipedia has several busbee's the "busbee" page title directs one to a page with a list of busbee's. One of which should be "busbee, the Ameican Songwriter." that is how he is professionally known. Most people don't even know his first name. So, why are you insisting it be listed in as his page title. Dr. Luke's page title is "Dr. Luke" not "Lukasz Gottwald", his real name. Madonna's is "Madonna (Entertainer)" not "Madonna Louise Ciccone." Sting's is "Sting (Musician)" not "Gordon Sumner." etc, etc, etc. Although i am not saying what you are saying is illogical...it is very inconsistent with the rest of wikipedia. again, please revert busbee's page title to "busbee, American Songwriter / Record Producer." thank you kindly. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 4trak (talk • contribs) 07:38, 4 June 2010 (UTC)

CloversMallRat...i don't actually think it is your place to decide that that is not appropriate. busbee is not professionally known as Michael Busbee." And for some odd reason there the wiki page "busbee" has been used to differential multiple busbee's. One of which is "busbee, American Songwriter." So that page title is actually very valid. Please stop moving it. Thank you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 4trak (talkcontribs) 22:04, 6 June 2010 (UTC) 4trak (talk) 22:20, 6 June 2010 (UTC)4trak (talk) 22:20, 6 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

  • Here is a collection of credits for Mike Busbee, most of credits are to Michael or Mike Busbee, or abbreviated of course http://www.discogs.com/artist/Mike+Busbee So it is rather : Mike Busbee would like to be professionally known as Busbee, but the public does not really accept or notice it. As he links to wikipedia from his website, it is also very likely that he is the main person who edits here (E-Kartoffel (talk) 15:03, 22 September 2011 (UTC))Reply

Relisted. Favonian (talk) 13:13, 11 February 2012 (UTC) The songwriter goes by just "busbee", as seen on sources such as this and this; and for definite proof, even BMI lists him as just "busbee". Since this is the only article using the exact name "busbee", the page disambiguating people with the surname Busbee should be moved. • Support per nom and WP:PTM. There are no other entities at Wikipedia called "Busbee" since the surname "article" is a list with no independent text. —  AjaxSmack  02:33, 18 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
