This does not look right. Surely Bulnesia sarmientoi and Bulnesia arborea both are good species? Brya 10:08, 25 September 2005 (UTC)Reply

AFAIK the two names are synonyms. --Pablo D. Flores (Talk) 15:23, 25 September 2005 (UTC)Reply
Do you have a monograph? Both are pretty widely used, as separate species. Brya 20:39, 27 September 2005 (UTC)Reply
I'm just beginning to see that... I got confused due to this. The main description I wrote, and the picture as well, is definitely B. sarmientoi, though I gather that B. arborea is very similar. What do you suggest? Do you have material to write a separate article, or should we move this to a common name and clear up the matter of the two species in the text? --Pablo D. Flores (Talk) 00:27, 28 September 2005 (UTC)Reply
Yes, they are often mentioned together. The wood is traded together also. You could leave it as it is, just delete the synonym (twice), make a note that Bulnesia arborea is very similar and move everything on the wood properties either to a new entry or below a new heading (perhaps "Verawood"). As the use in the Chaco will refer to Bulnesia sarmientoi only this may not be easy to layout. Perhaps, the easiest thing is to have an entry Bulnesia with a heading for wood and a listing ("principal species") with brief notes for each species. Brya 17:00, 30 September 2005 (UTC)Reply

A quick google check reveals a third species Bulnesia retama, and also some dispute over the spelling of B. sarmientoi, with several sources (including the USDA plants database) spelling it Bulnesia sarmienti - MPF 16:09, 1 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

The Spanish version of this page lists this species' endangerment level as "EN", while it's listed as the considerably less endangered "CD" on this page. Anybody know which is more accurate? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.101.72.105 (talk) 03:52, 8 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Verawood redirects here. The folks at Global Wood Source seem to think Verawood refers to Gymnanthes lucida. If they're right, perhaps Verawood needs to be a disambiguation page linking to the various woods that the name refers to? 69.12.141.101 (talk) 05:39, 13 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

What is the Janka hardness of this wood? I have seen it listed as anywhere between 3000 and 4600. As it is a trade wood, this information is important both in talking about its uses and in comparing to other trade woods. I'm convinced that there is a spelling error in the title of this article, according to the literature it should spell Bulnesia sarmienti, not sarmientoi. Compare IPNI: / International Plant Name Index - Bulnesia sarmienti --131.188.188.209 (talk) 14:17, 10 February 2014 (UTC)Reply
