The Plot section seems more like a premise than than the plot of the game. Ought it be changed to 'Premise' or should someone who knows the plot better simply add more details about the storyline? --Knighthsilgne (talk) 00:56, 16 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

It was written before the game came out. Now that it's out, someone will have to play/watch through and write up a 400-700 word summary. -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 04:10, 16 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

Actual Release Date edit

I keep seeing that the real release date of this game is 12/31/2021.

So whether it's Best Buy or GameStop, the release date is still the same: 12/31/2021. --MerrieMelodian (talk) 04:24, 20 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Except that's not true. The game is out digitally; you can play it right now. December 31, 2021 is just a temporary placeholder for the date of the phsyical release until the real one is confirmed. -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 18:35, 20 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Incorrect Genre edit

I think categorizing Bugsnax as an Adventure game is a mistake. This is not a problem unique to Bugsnax, but is a much larger problem of taxonomy in video games in general. First there was Colossal Cave Adventure (which was also sometimes distributed as just “Adventure”). Games that were modeled on that were called “Adventure Games”. At first they were all text-based, like the classic games of InfoCom. Then they incorporated graphics, but retained a text parser, like early Sierra games. Then they incorporated GUIs like later Sierra games, as well as LucasArts and Cyan games. None of these were systems/physics-based. Most interactions were completely contextual. Now, the term has been broadened to include anything where the premise of the game can be described as going on an adventure. This is pretty useless as a categorization, because a huge percentage of games these days fall into this category, and they have wildly varied gameplay mechanics. More specifically, Bugsnax gameplay is largely system-based with its use of physics-based tools used to alter the scripted behavior of MOBs and capture them. A better category for the game’s genre would be Immersive Sim. NarfiRef (talk) 17:43, 24 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia identifies games' genres based on how they are categorized in reliable sources, such as reviews, and the majority of the reviews term Bugsnax as an adventure or puzzle-adventure game. None of them use the term "immersive sim". -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 19:35, 24 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
