Notes primarily to self, but helpers are welcome:

~~Rewrite Bl in a language of linear approximation (LAM/LAT, should be easier to explain than correlation)~~
Show the linear simplification in the Mathematics section
Mention the possibility of Bd != Bl even in the linear case (D/R), describe some conditions for equality
Add an explanation on the reason why a low branch number is undesirable
