I just now reorganized the Lineage section. Am I correct that Grand Rabbi Avrohom Horowitz and Grand Rabbi Pinchas David Horowitz are both sons of Grand Rabbi Levi Yitzchak Horowitz? --Keeves 14:02, 20 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

No, they are the sons of Grand Rabbi Moshe Horowitz. I've re-shuffled the names so that they're both under their father Shmiell 17:49, 25 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

There is, however, a son of Grand Rabbi Levi Yitzchak Horowitz named Pinchas (David). Ratzd'mishukribo 19:54, 14 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Yes, he is the Chuster Rov in Boro Park.Shmiell 17:41, 10 September 2006 (UTC)rabbi yisroel yona is the rebbe in Boro park. Information can be found on thebostoner.orgReply

Spelling of names edit

Shouldn't all instances of 'Dovis' be changed to'David', the standard pronunciation? In any case, he wouldn't have pronounced it 'Dovid', so we may as well conform with standard spelling.

Bostoner Rebbes edit

There have been several promotions to Rebbe. Can someone plese verify and source that these are all indeed called Bostoner Rebbe. --Redaktor 23:45, 8 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

There are not any "promotions" to Rebbe, but there have been several promotions to "Ruv" (or Rov, however you want to pronounce it; if you want to change the pronunciation of "Dovid" I think that "Duvid" would be a more accurate portrayal of the Bostoner pronunciation) so here's a list of the various Bostoner "Ruv"s:

The Chuster Rov, Rabbi Pinchos Duvid Horowitz, son of Grand Rabbi Levi Yitzchok of Boston and Har Nof The Chuster Rov's sons:

R' Moshe Shimon of Beitar

R' Shia'le of Monsey

R' Yechiel Mechel of Highland Park, NJ

(R' Yisroel Aharon of Manchester may have a title affiliated with his Father-in-law, the Horodenker Rov, I'm not sure)

Rabbi Mayer Horowitz of Har Nof, son of Grand Rabbi Levi Yitzchok

Rabbi Naftuli Horowitz of Boston, son of Grand Rabbi Levi Yitzchok

Rabbi Moshe Chaim Geldzahler of Har Nof, son-in-law of Grand Rabbi Levi Yitzchok

Rabbi Yankel Horowitz of Lawrence, NY, son of Grand Rabbi Chaim Avrohom Horowitz of Ramat Beit Shemesh

Rabbi Yisroel Yona Horowitz of Boro Park, son of Grand Rabbi Chaim Avrohom

Rabbi Chaim Avrohom Horowitz of Monsey, son of Grand Rabbi Pinchos Duvid of Flatbush

If I have time and can figure out how to source the article and what everyone would consider to be valid sources, I can probably provide sources for the whole article.Shmiell 02:34, 2 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

This list is very helpful; thank you. Do they all have the title 'Bostoner Ruv'? If you are able to provide a soiurce or two, that would be a great enhancement for the article.--Redaktor 15:00, 2 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Inline citations needed edit

There are two references at the bottom, but it's unclear if those references support all the material in the article. Inline citations should be used because there is a lot of information to process. See Wikipedia:Citing sources.

Also, "Reb Moshe" and "Reb Pinchos" is a natural writing style for this subject, but perhaps a more formal style is appropriate here. 71.174.226.117 02:19, 12 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Mvc-223f.jpg edit

Image:Mvc-223f.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Pinchas Duvid Horovitz edit

Perhaps interesting for someone: I wrote a short article of Pinchas Duvid Horovitz, which you may find on the German Wikipedia. Shavua tov. -- Michael Kühntopf (talk) 20:07, 14 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Thanks. I added the interwiki link into Pinchas David Horowitz. -- -- -- 21:22, 9 May 2013 (UTC)Reply
