Talk:Boiler Room (band)

Latest comment: 16 years ago by Marasmusine

What is the main reason for the "speedy deletion" of this article ? I'm still working on the information i'm going to put up. The band was a major label act, their album can be purchased off Amazon, they toured with big name bands, they were on an MTV compilation and there are reviews of the album on top notch music sites.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Detoxscission (talkcontribs)

I tagged the article for deletion because I didn't think it looked like they met any of the notability criteria. --OnoremDil 13:04, 12 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Does it now ? Or what else would it take to meet the criteria ? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Detoxscission (talkcontribs) 13:09, 12 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

I'm still not sure I see anything that meets any of the criteria. After looking for sources myself, I am concerned about where the text came from now though. It looks like the first paragraph is a direct copy from this site, and the second is copied from this one. Both those pages would appear to be claiming a copyright on the text. --OnoremDil 13:28, 12 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Give me one second and I'll do the reference part at the bottom. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Detoxscission (talkcontribs) 13:33, 12 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Adding a reference section doesn't mean the entire article can be filled with blatant copyvios. It needs a complete rewrite if it's going to stay. --OnoremDil 13:35, 12 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Then re-write it I shall. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Detoxscission (talkcontribs) 13:43, 12 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Please note that it doesn't actually have to meet the notability criteria to avoid speedy deletion. The article merely has to make an assertion of importance or significance. However, if the notability threshold is not met, the article may still be subject to deletion through peer discussion. Marasmusine (talk) 15:15, 12 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
