Difference from Flare (pyrotechnic) edit

Thank you for your suggestions for the blue light page. There was an evolution in signaling technology during the centuries from Lord Nelson's navy to modern times, and the archaic blue light is quite different in composition, ignition and presentation from what present military forces employ. The term "blue light" has been lost to modern historians, yet appears in widely read, popular arenas (Confederate Gen. Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson was nicknamed "Old Blue Light" by his students at the Virginia Military Institute not because of the color of his eyes, but because "blue light" was a derisive term applied to men whose devout, outspoken religious zeal made them the object of scorn by those whose fervor burned with a lesser intensity). I digress. I would be happy to further modify the page to meet the requirements of Wikipedia, and welcome your additions and corrections. Hunleybluelight (talk) 23:56, 23 December 2011 (UTC)Reply
