Placing here in case anyone wants to use them or nominate them for deletion now that they are unnecessary.

I'm not adding much prose to the article; I'm just tossing up the skeleton and will leave it to the kiddies to flesh it out. Chubbles (talk) 19:23, 12 July 2012 (UTC)

Contested deletion

Unsalted per DRV; new claims of notability made (charting album, though the band would have passed WP:MUSIC before it). The G4 is spurious. --Chubbles (talk) 07:30, 29 July 2012 (UTC)

the phrase "The duo has been criticized a lot by critics and listeners alike" needs to be cleaned up and made to sound more professional. 70.113.210.145 (talk) 00:42, 26 December 2013 (UTC)

Um not to be a pain but i'm pretty sure that is not Jayy and Dahvie in the picture, the approximate body mass for "Jayy" is not right for Jayy Von Monroe and Jayy doesn't usually use a head set... but I suppose I could be wrong. I would appreciate it if you would use a different one none the less. Thank You! 71.210.54.224 (talk) 02:18, 2 March 2014 (UTC)

"Bitchcraft" on album list links to Bitchcraft instead of Bitchcraft (album)

Edit: actually, the album link isn't a real album page... does it even exist? Maxorq (talk) 22:58, 30 June 2014 (UTC)

Done I've changed it to Bitchcraft (Blood on the Dance Floor album) which doesn't exist but should be the eventual target. Bitchcraft (album) is a redirect to something else entirely. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 23:04, 30 June 2014 (UTC)

Weasel words in the Controversy/Criticism/Accusations Section

I don't know the first thing about Wikipedia (I actually just created a username to post this), so I can't correct this myself, but there are some serious problems with this part of the article:

Dahvie Vanity is a great man. He was accused with the rape of a fifteen year old girl, which really set back his career , and is also why nobody really listens to botdf, but this whole "rape" issue is just like the gay rights issue- people saying that we shouldn't listen to them is just like saying two men can't marry. blood on the dance floor is not all that bad, really, and neither is gay marriage.

The last sentence is also pretty problematic. Can't somebody do something?!? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lemmlemmler (talkcontribs) 20:04, 2 August 2013 (UTC)

I've removed this whole section for WP:BLP concerns. Allegations like this require reliable sources, and the sources given were all blogs and websites not known for their reliability. Even then, I couldn't see anything definitively stating Vanity had actually been convicted of anything. Robofish (talk) 23:45, 30 November 2013 (UTC)
I disagree with this characterization; one of the cited sources is Allmusic, which is a reliable source (not impeccable, but no media outlet is). That reference alone is grounds for at least a sentence on the matter, though probably not an entire section. I can't speak to the Australian sources (Under the Gun is a decent source for third-party reviews, but I can't speak to its factchecking on biographical matters). Chubbles (talk) 05:06, 1 December 2013 (UTC)
The section's now been restored by User:Second Skin. I recognise that Allmusic is used as a source here, but I still don't like it. The presence of this section raises BLP issues, particularly the length of it and the title 'Dahvie Vanity child molestation cases', which implies that he is conclusively known to have molested multiple children, when in fact nothing of the kind is true. At the very least, it should be renamed to 'allegations' or something like that, and note that the principal allegation against him did not proceed to a conviction. Allegations sourced to self-published blogs, and unsupported accusations of being a 'child fucker', are not permissible. I may take this matter to the BLP noticeboard. Robofish (talk) 20:11, 7 December 2013 (UTC)
Done: WP:BLPN#Blood on the Dance Floor (duo). Robofish (talk) 20:28, 7 December 2013 (UTC)

Actually he is very known to molest children. It's almost like Michael Jackson's molestation cases at this point. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Second Skin (talkcontribs) 20:14, 7 December 2013 (UTC)

Allegations being 'very known' isn't necessarily enough to put them into a Wikipedia article. Good sourcing is needed. In this case, the allegations against him haven't received anywhere near the level of attention from the media that the allegations against Jackson did (because he's a far less notable musician). That makes them difficult for us to include. It isn't a matter of what's 'well known' about certain people; we have to stick to what the available sources say. Robofish (talk) 20:31, 7 December 2013 (UTC)
Really? [[1]] Allegations made by people on tour with him isn't a good enough source for you? You do realize that false rape allegations account for 2% of all cases, right? It's objective that he's been charged with raping a minor [[2]] and you don't even think that needs to be *mentioned*; especially considering that their music is primarily marketed towards teenage girls?

Way to be a rape apologist. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Soletmetellyouaboutthisrealquick (talkcontribs) 10:49, 10 December 2013 (UTC)

There NEEDS to be a mention of Dahvie's pedophilia. Here is a link with many MANY examples of his horrific behaviour. http://truthaboutdahvie.tumblr.com/post/40316532001/dahvie-vanity-allegation-roundup23.16.255.231 (talk) 04:05, 1 December 2014 (UTC)

Hi, I think it is very important that a section detailing the sexual abuse and exploitation of Dahvie Vanity is added to this page. Perhaps "Sexual Abuse Allegations" or something aptly titled. Formal police reports DO exist and actual legal charges have been made. Not to mention many of his long time collaborators have condemned him, including Jeffree Star who publically called him "disgusting" and a "child rapist." Jeffree Star went on to say he personally witnessed Dahvie Vanity in his hotel suite with underaged girls.

There are OVERWHELMING reports from DOZENS of underage girls, including screenshots of texts, nude photos he sent, photos of him directly kissing a 16 year old girl, and LEGITIMATE legal documents citing formal charges of statutory rape.

I think it is EXTREMELY important this is all mentioned in this article. Screenshots of the texts, Jeffree Star's official statements, pictures of the legal documents (as well as sources) are all included here:

http://truthaboutdahvie.tumblr.com/post/40316532001/dahvie-vanity-allegation-roundup

And here are some from official journalistic publications:

http://www.underthegunreview.net/2013/02/28/new-years-day-merch-guy-opens-up-about-blood-on-the-dance-floor/#.UakbPH-QxOE.facebook (details allegations from a merchandise seller)

http://musicfeeds.com.au/news/blood-on-the-dance-floor-accused-of-child-sex-by-fans-support-acts-and-crew/ (details the informal allegations on tumblr)

http://www.urlesque.com/2010/07/19/jessi-slaughter/ (details the formal statutory rape charges filed agains Dahvie, which were later dropped).

And here's an interview from an official news publication, in which singer Lady Nogrady describes being sexually assaulted by Dahvie Vanity:

http://www.lemonademagazine.net/#!__july2012 http://media.tumblr.com/7296e48f196b3e970f0b027e168e0dff/tumblr_inline_mghse5q2oM1qzd8ae.png

I think all of these overwhelmingly classify as reliable sources.

Thank you.

Not done: please establish a consensus for this alteration before using the {{edit semi-protected}} template. Tumblr, Facebook, urlesque quoting facebook, and a lemonademagazine link to the generic site do not back up any claims of anything and are not reliable. Musicfeeds.com.au may be reliable, but you're not specifying exactly what you want added to the article and were. I suggest getting some better sources and getting a consensus to add a neutral section on this if you desire pursuing it further. — {{U|Technical 13}} (etc) 02:32, 24 November 2014 (UTC)

very disappointed Wikipedia has decided to NOT include the controversy regarding the band's ongoing rape allegations in the article, this is important information that is being withheld despite countless articles online documenting it.

please include a section regarding the band's documented run ins with the law as part of the factual aspect of who the band is.

Has there been any conviction? As per WP:BLPCRIME, allegations should not be included. Stickee (talk) 23:41, 3 August 2015 (UTC)
True, but that applies only for non-public figures. For public figures relevant and well-documented accusations and allegations should be included. The issue at hand is whether the accusations are well documented. Some of the sources seem reliable enough (not the Tumblr ones, for example). He was prosecuted and he commented on the subject. I believe it deserves a mention at least.MaxiiTorres108 (talk) 20:01, 6 December 2016 (UTC)
