After re-reading the first issue of Mark Evanier's run on "Blackhawk", it seemed apparent that he had established Blackhawk as a Pole, contrary to the change being made in Chaykin's run. I'm no expert on Blackhawk, so if anyone else can verify this, then the history should probably be corrected in the Publication History section.24.163.208.79 20:05, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

Done - it needs more references. I also added an infobox (as it needed one) but wasn't sure if I got the right one - the team one made most sense as it was more general than just a character or title. This entry is full of errors!

Howard Chaykin didn't establish Blackhawk's true identity as Janos Prohaska. Mark Evanier did with his early 80s series with Dan Spiegle. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.181.83.220 (talk) 06:04, 21 June 2010 (UTC)

Actually, no. Though Evanier did make Blackhawk Polish again, the name Janos Prohaska is Chaykin's creation, first appearing in the 1988 mini-series. DoctorSivana (talk) 05:39, 12 April 2013 (UTC)

Blackhawks' Anticommunist Era Omitted From This Article

This article completely ignores a period of some years in the 1950s when the Blackhawks were zealous anti-communist commandos, with story titles like (I remember exactly) "Trapped in the Kremlin!" I wish I had been old enough to remember more details. I assumed that anticommunism was intrinsic to the Blackhawks, for it was all I had ever seen them do. Then their anticommunist phase ended abruptly, with a shift to fighting random science-fiction menaces — so abruptly that it must have resulted from an executive command. Whatever caused the redirection, it would not be able to censor Wikipedia. Omitting this major phase in the Blackhawks' history leaves a glaring hole in this otherwise impressive article.
