A note edit
This bird has been labeled as "Threatened" by the local news, and a section of Daytona Beach, Florida was blocked off because one bird laid its egg on the beach. I did a search on Google for more information to make sure this claim was valid, and it appears so. I am not sure as to the exact status of the bird, but it is NOT of least concern. The city of Daytona decided to block off a portion of its beach for the bird to lay its eggs, with signs saying not to disturb the animal, and this was due to a single pair of mates nesting on the beach near all of the tourist. It takes approx. 2 months for the egg to hatch. There has only been 3 pair of them spotted on the beach over the last few years. I am not able to find out the exact status. - It may be threatened in Florida, but it certainly isn't overall — it's found throughout much of the Americas. BirdLife International and the IUCN, which evaluates these things, rate it as Least Concern. MeegsC | Talk 18:57, 6 July 2010 (UTC)

Hi All,
As per the tag to cleanup the images I have deleted 2 which are here in case anyone has issue. For the others I put together into the gallery to give more a timeline of their growth. Also I divided into sections and swapped the last two section, keeping the body text together and the info seperated.

The black skimmer (Rynchops niger) is a tern-like bird in the gull family Laridae, breeding in North and South America. Skimmers have the lower mandible (jawbone) and bill longer than the upper ones, which allows them to fly low over the water surface, skimming the water for small fish, insects, crustaceans and molluscs. This black skimmer was photographed fishing while in flight over the Rio Negro in the Pantanal, an area of tropical wetland in southwestern Brazil. Photograph credit: Charles James Sharp
