Origin: USA? edit

Just two of the many band members are American and they seem to be operating out of UK/Ireland; perhaps I'm not understanding how the 'origin' label is worked out, but I don't think a general music enthusiast would call them American. Surely an error? 129.67.117.252 (talk) 16:10, 4 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

Brian Downey/ Black Star Riders edit

Jimmy Degrassi is listed on the page as being a founding member of BSR. That is incorrect. Brian Downey (Lizzy's only drummer) and Scott Gorham resurrected Thin Lizzy. Original keyboard player Darren Wharton, singer Ricky Warick, bass player Marco Mendoza and guitarist Damon Johnson rounded out the lineup. They toured as Thin Lizzy, playing Lizzy tunes. In 2012 they started writing new material and Scott and Brian were uneasy about calling the band Thin Lizzy out of respect for Phil. They came up with the name Black Star Riders from the name of an outlaw gang in the movie Tombstone. In early 2012 Brian Downey retired citing his unwillingness to tour for long periods of time and the rigors of touring . IT WAS THEN that Jimmy Degrasso was hired to replace Brian. Downey didn't play a single show with the band, and never recorded with them. Most, if not all of the material was written before it was decided to form a new band, and before the band was named. Warwick named the band. Are you saying you think Downey was a member of BSR? Bretonbanquet (talk) 19:43, 11 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
