Contested deletion edit

This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because the Black AIDS Institute is a significant organization and this is part of a WikiEducation project and met with approval of the person overseeing this course from the Wikipedia Foundation --Hacarroll (talk) 18:31, 21 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

This article should not be speedily deleted. The article cites an secondary source from 2001, indicating the organization has been existent for some time, and an article from a Chicago-based source, indicating the organization has some national scope. The organization's website includes their audits and financial statements; these indicate that it has multiple permanent employees and consistently receives funding in excess of $1 million/year. I cleared the speedy deletion tag. The first paragraph should have more information, enough to convey the most important facts about the organization and what it does. Roches (talk) 05:32, 22 April 2015 (UTC)Reply
