The name Blåbär edit

"Blåbär" is a trade name, not a generic name. I don't know how well-known the trade name is in the US, but in Sweden, blåbär is a common noun which means blueberry, it is not a name used for the drink. We call it blåbärssoppa, blueberry soup. Ekström's blueberry soup which is called "Blåbär" is probably the most sold one, but it is never referred to as "blåbär". This can't be verified through Google unless you are a Swedish speaker, I'm afraid, because both nouns have a lot of Google hits; however "blåbär" has almost no hits at all for the drink, whereas "blåbärssoppa" has over 48,000 hits. In any case, I question whether it is a good idea to use the trade name Blåbär for the drink, rather than the generic name blåbärssoppa, or its direct (and frequently-used) English translation, blueberry soup. --Bonadea (talk) 07:36, 14 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

I would move it to the Swedish name then. -- Roleplayer (talk) 11:08, 14 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

How about move of the title? edit

This Swedish title with diacritics is difficult for common English readers to search except for Swedish readers. I also conduced simple Google research (see below), and the hit number of its English name, "Blueberry soup" overwhelmingly surpasses than that of Blåbärssoppa. One thing I'm not sure is "blueberry soup" is only unique to Swedish, but if there is no blueberry soup found in other cuisines, I think "Blueberry soup" is ideal for the title. Moreover, the meaning of "Blåbärssoppa" is blueberry soup regardless of the fact that the soup is actually made with another berry with the blue color.--Caspian blue 16:49, 8 December 2009 (UTC)Reply
