editThis page seems to gloss over several aspects of the Earp/Clanton fued that have a direct impact on Billy Clanton's life.
It downplays the Clanton families involvment in cattle rustling across the Mexican border. While there may be no direct evidence Billy himself took part in these activities it goes to the overall belief of many historians that the Clanton family were in fact, cattle rustlers and thus outlaws.
It also states that Newman "Old Man" Clanton was killed in Mexico when in fact he was killed in Skelton Canyon BY Mexican soldiers in retaliation for the cattle rustling activities engaged in by the Clanton family refrenced above. Skeleton Canyon is located on the AZ/NM border and NOT in Mexico proper.
The arrest of Billy's older brother Ike on the morning of October 26th which directly preceeded the gunfight near the OK Corral also fails to mention that Ike was overheard threatening the Earps and only claims he was arrested "for carrying a gun" once again downplaying the friction that existed between the Cowboy faction and the Earp brothers making Ike's arrest seem more trivial than it really was.
Billy lived for approximnatlly 1 hour after the gunfight near the OK Corral and claimed on his death bed that he was murdered by the Earps, this too is missing which is surprising in such a Clanton slanted article as it goes to show Billy himself felt he'd been killed illegally and that in his eyes at least, the gunfight and deaths of the Mcluarey's and himself was not justified.
