there was no "Stalin's alliance with Hitler". There was the "Treaty of Non-aggression between Germany and the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics". According to the corresponding wikipedia article this treaty " ensured a non-involvement of the Soviet Union in a European War, as well as separating Germany and Japan from forming a military alliance, thus allowing Stalin to concentrate on Japan in the battles of Khalkhin Gol".
