Holy Mother edit
Regarding the term, "our Holy Mother" in the excommunication ritual. It doesn't refer to the Blessed Virgin Mary but the Church.

Recent practice edit

How notable is the Sabbat song? edit
This looks like fancruft:
- The British thrash metal band Sabbat references the ritual on the album History of a Time to Come in the song "A Cautionary Tale":
'Bell, book, and candle, candle, book, bell, forwards and backwards to damn me to Hell'
From a quick search, hundreds of songs have "bell book candle" in the lyrics, dozens of songs are titled that, and there's at least two bands with the name (one of which has a Wikipedia article). While Sabbat is notable enough to be covered by Wikipedia, I doubt this particular song is important enough that it's relevant to a page about the ritual.
