Designers edit

What's up with the designer section listing the entire development team? I'm pretty sure not all of them are designers for this game. Can we get cleanup/verification? 76.121.138.201 (talk) 21:05, 26 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Facebook Version Updates edit

There are lots of updates to the Facebook version of Bejeweled Blitz, which I will try to describe to the best of my ability:

  1. There are new Key Stone Quests. There are easy, medium, and hard Quests. You can earn rewards, including Rare Gems, Party Tokens (see #3 for details), experience points for gaining Ranks (see #4 for details), or extra coins for completing them. You can only have one easy, one medium, and one hard Quest at a time. Once you get a quest, you have three days (72 hours) to complete it. When you complete the quest, or time runs out, you will be given a new one. You will start with only the easy quest the first time you play. When you reach Rank 5, you will receive your first medium quest, and at Rank 20 you will receive your first hard quest.
  2. Regarding Rare Gems, there are at least two updates to these that I can think of: (a) There are now powered-up versions of the Kanga Ruby, which you can get by sharing them with other Facebook users. There are three levels of Kanga Rubies: you can buy a Level 1 Kanga Ruby for 50,000 Coins when you first harvest it. When the game is completed, you can share the Kanga Ruby with up to ten friends, but they will receive a Level 2 Kanga Ruby (which is also worth 50,000 Coins), which is more powerful than a Level 1 Kanga Ruby. If you harvest a Level 2 Kanga Ruby, you can share a Level 3 Kanga Ruby with up to ten friends when you complete that game. If you harvest a Level 3 Kanga Ruby (the strongest, can also be harvested for 50,000 Coins), you can share the Level 3 Kanga Ruby (there is no Level 4 or higher) with up to ten friends. (b) There are Rare Gem streaks. You can harvest up to three of the same Rare Gem (when given a chance) in three consecutive games. If you refresh your browser or leave the Bejeweled Blitz application, your streak ends (for example, if you use a Phoenix Prism, and then leave or refresh the page after the game is completed, the streak is over). Also, the second and third Rare Gems in the streak are at a discounted price. There are also certain days in which the prices are lowered (they are announced on the Bejeweled Blitz Facebook page), along with the streak prices. There also are certain days in which there are "Free Streaks" on a Rare Gem. This means that you pay the full price for the first Rare Gem of that kind, but then you get the second and third Rare Gems in the streak for free (zero coins).
  3. You can now earn Party Tokens by completing certain tasks. There is also an option to buy them, as well, using Facebook Credits. You can play the Party mode by clicking on the "Party" button. You can earn Coins by paying Party Tokens (There are one, three, five, and ten Token games.) You also receive a free one-token game every day at 7:00 PM EST, but you cannot have more than one free game at a time. [I think that the time that the Party game is awarded is based on GMT, but I don't know the conversion from GMT to EST]), and playing a special version of Blitz in which you and a friend in turn (once you start a party game, your friend has fourteen days to complete their turn) can each earn bonus coins by creating special Gems (Hypercubes, Flames, and Stars) to reach a certain number of each gem type. There is also a score target to beat, which starts at 100,000 points, and adjusts as you play. Within this target are smaller targets at 25% of the target score, 50% of the target score, and 75% of the target score. You and friend team up to achieve these targets. For example, you might need three total Hypercubes, nine total Flame Gems, four total Star Gems, and 152,000 total points. If you and your friend get three or more Hypercubes, you achieve that goal, and depending on the number of Tokens you used for that Party, you can win from 1,500 to 15,000 Coins. For Flame Gems, you can earn from 1,000 to 10,000 Coins. For Star Gems, you can win from 1,500 to 15,000 Coins. For reaching 25% of the target score, you'll earn from 100 to 1,000 Coins, 50% awards 300 to 3,000 Coins, 75% earns 600 to 6,000 Coins, and reaching the target score gives you 5,000 to 125,000 Coins. These Coin values (not the Gem or score requirements) are doubled from 7:00 PM EST on Saturday night to 7:00 PM EST on Sunday night.
  4. You now earn Experience Points (XP) with which you can earn new Ranks and earn extra coins. For each Rank you attain you will earn either a Grand Mystery Treasure or a Legendary Mystery Treasure (at every tenth Rank), further explained in #5. The number of points you score in a single game is equal to the number of XP you gain for that game, but only if you complete that game to the end, and if you do, you keep that XP, and you'll add to it based on your scores from subsequent completed games. You start at Rank 1, but to attain Rank 2, you will need 250,000 XP. To reach Rank 3, you will need an additional 500,000 XP, for a total of 750,000 XP. Rank 4 requires another 750,000 XP (for 1,500,000 total). Each new Rank requires 250,000 XP more than the one before it. You can earn up to 1,000,000 XP by completing certain Key Stone Quests.
  5. Mystery Treasures can now be earned in this game. A Mystery Treasure can be worth from 250 to 1,000,000 Coins. You can send them to your friends by looking in your Message Center where all collected items (Rare Gems, bonus XP, Coins, etc.) are kept, until collected, or until they expire (which is a period of at least seven days). By clicking "Free Gifts", you can send up to sixty Mystery Treasures a day However, you can also thank people who sent you Mystery Treasures, but this counts toward your quota of sixty Mystery Treasures. As mentioned in #4, you can also earn special Mystery Treasures, by attaining new Ranks. A Grand Mystery Treasure has a base value of 2,500 Coins, and a Legendary Mystery Treasure has a base value of 25,000 Coins.
  6. There is a Daily Spin (which looks like a slot machine) in which you can earn lots of coins. You can get one spin for free every day at 1:00 AM EST, or purchase additional spins for Facebook Credits. Depending on what appears on the screen, you can win from 500 (with no blue gems) to 1,000,000 Coins (with three blue gems clearly in view). All gem colors are represented in the Daily Spin, and three of the same color clearly in view award at least 5,000 Coins, depending on the color of the gem that there were three of. You can also share your win with up to ten of your friends, and depending on how much you win, that will determine the amount you can share with those friends. The amount you can share ranges from 500 (for a 2,500, 5,000, or 10,000 Coin win) to 10,000 Coins (for a 100,000, 250,000, or a 1,000,000 Coin win). You cannot share if you do not win at least 2,500 Coins in the Daily Spin. Bonuses are added for each friend that plays (100 Coins × number of friends playing [Maxes out at 50, which equals 5,000 Coins. You can have more than 50 friends playing, but you will only receive Coins for 50 of them.]) and how many days you have spun in a row without missing a day (100 Coins × number of days [maxes out at seven days, or 700 Coins]).

Is this too much information? If so, can someone simplify it? Also, is this the page for the PC version? If so, delete what I just wrote, and tell me.
