I have asked you to read Wikipedia:Naming conventions (use English), which is fairly self-explanatory. I quote: American newspapers generally refer to the Olympics in Torino even though most English texts still call the city Turin. However newspapers in other parts of the English speaking world still use Turin. Since Beckie Scott is a Canadian athlete, I maintain that the use of Turin is most appropriate. It is highly inconstent for English language Wikipedia pages to refer to Torino for these games, but not "Roma" for 1960, not "München" for 1972, etc. Even the root 2006 Olympic page at 2006 Winter Olympics uses "Turin" (with an explanatory note about "Torino" in the logo etc.), so it makes most sense for other Olympic pages to follow suit. Well, the Canadian Press and Associated Press use Turin. And more importantly, Wikipedia uses Turin (as noted above). Are you prepared to change all those other pages? Andrwsc 04:24, 17 February 2006 (UTC)

Offensive to who? Hundreds (thousands?) of cities in the world have different names in different languages. Do the people of New York get upset when Spanish speakers call it "Nuevo York"? Do Londoners take offense when they see "Londres" listed in French airports - or see fr:Londres on Wikipedia? I think you think the citizens of Turin are far too fragile, ignorant, or egotistical. Update Notable Placings

The Notable Placings section should be updated to include more items. Are there any guidelines for which placings should be noted? For example, podium finishes in World Cups and top 20 finishes in the Olympics. -- LindenMC 22:15, 22 February 2006 (UTC)
