I have cut down the plot summary to a very short one, and have provided two external references. I appreciate that the quality of this article is quite low (apart from the character descriptions which I think are rather good) to be honest, I would never normally attempt to write an article on a book. It was just that having just finished reading this novel, I felt it neccesary to add it to the Wikepedia database)I would apprecate someone tidying up this article, as I am somewhat of a Wikepedia Novice!
Just added a link for beatnik but one to the Beat Generation would probably be a better move. Perhaps the 'emblematic names' should also be explained: Jack Kerouac and Neal Cassady.91.92.179.172 (talk) 17:37, 9 June 2011 (UTC)
Fix/remove plot summary edit
The current plot summary is too long, and doesn't include any sources. It either needs to be trimmed and given references, or removed if the book's notability can't be shown. LordRM 04:42, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
