Appearances in Elite Eight and Sweet Sixteen edit

On the info bar on the right side of the page, most other major college team's basketball pages list every appearance, regardless of where they ended. In example, if a team were the 1996 Champions, it would also list 1996 Final Four, 1996 Elite Eight, 1996 Sweet Sixteen, and 1996 in the rest of the rounds. Baylor's page didn't do it, and it didn't look up to snuff as the rest of pages. So I added in their very minimal 1948 and 1950 appearances to the Elite 8 and Sweet Sixteen, as it was already stated their were in the final four those two years. I don't think anyone would object, just stating what I did to it. Teafico (talk) 01:55, 27 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

It's because there was no such thing as the Sweet 16 in 1948 or 1950, because there were only 8 teams in the tournament. As such, the "elite 8" was the opening round so is generally just counted as an appearance. See 1948 NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Tournament and 1950 NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Tournament. HUM. The things you learn, or really.. the things I should actually look up before posting to be a helpful editor. I'll look around a lot more, seriously. Thanks for that, though. Teafico (talk) 05:09, 27 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

1994 academic fraud scandal edit

I'm a little surprised to find the recruitment scandal of 1994 that led to Darrel Johnson's firing, convictions for interstate fraud for 3 assistant coaches, and 5 years' NCAA probation, is not mentioned in the article. (Collateral damage was the end of the collegiate coaching career of Pam Bowers, the whistleblower; the SI article that's a reference in the article on her is a good summary up to the indictments; this ESPN article testifies to the probation). There were repercussions nationwide, on both the academic fraud and the Title IX issues. Yngvadottir (talk) 18:40, 16 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

Add citations edit

This article is lacking in citations, so I would like to start finding sources for some of the information contained in the article. I already added a citation to the Immortal Ten Memorial, and would like to continue adding citations. Jillian-walker1 (talk) 05:36, 27 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

Section name change proposal edit

I propose changing the titles of two sections like so:

Immortal Ten » "Immortal Ten" (only a nickname)

Decade Long Resurgence » Recent years or split into multiple sections (The section starts at 2005, so it's well over a decade. However, content is lacking for their championship season, adding which could lead to a split in a very long section.)

What do you think? (Sorry if it's pretty obvious, this is my first proposal on a talk page.) Isthmus55 (talk) 16:06, 20 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
