Crvena Stena edit

The new article is a big improvement over its pre-deletion version (which sadly still exist in its old reality-distorting form in the Russian and Bulgarian wikis). Since it was a pretty minor action in a much larger offensive it's going to be hard to find reliable secondary sources however.

On the subject at hand, there are some inaccuracies currently. The 76e division d'infanterie was in the sector west of Lake Prespa; their objective on the March 11 operation was to reach the Resen plain to cut off the positions on the Crvena Stena. The Crvena Stena itself was to be attacked frontally by the 156e division d'infanterie (which held the line from the crest of the Baba-Planina to the road Bitola-Resen).
On 26 March a battalion of the 1er RMA (régiment de marche d'afrique) gained a foothold on the north-east of the Crvena Stena, west of Dihovo, making about 160 prisoners mostly from the Bulgarian 15th and 55th infantry regiments. On the 17th of April that position was recaptured by the German 146th infantry regiment with the support of artillery and flamethrowers; the defending units, a battalion of the 1er RMA and the 175e RI each, lost half their effective in that action: 29 killed, 107 wounded and 276 missing, most of the later made prisoners (numbers quite different from those claimed in the old article). Two days later that position was once again taken by the 1er RMA with the capture of 73 Germans and 1 Bulgarian. There was no other major action on the Crvena Stena until May 16 when the Germans pushed back a company-sized raid by the 1er RMA.
