Hi Jim101. I cannot understand your claim: In Turkish "Kunuri Muharebeleri" means Battle of Wawon, but in English "Battle of Kunuri" means Battle of the Ch'ongch'on River

In Turkish "Kunuri Muharebesi", "Kunuri Muharebeleri", "Kunuri Savaşı", "Kunuri Savaşları"

According to sources, the term Battle of Kunuri is used as equivalent meaning of Battle of Wawon that was fought between November 26/27 and 29/30, 1950.[1]

On the other hand, Battle of the Ch'ongch'on River was larger campaign that was fought from November 25 to December 2, 1950.

Can you show us any reliable sources to prove your claim ? Thank you.

About the term Battle of Kunu-ri, the situation is confused a little. Takabeg (talk) 03:50, 19 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

First of all, change your search term to Battle of Kunu-ri, (this would explain why you can't find any sources that goes in depth to this issue). Second of all, in English, (in another word, in American POV), The term "Battle of Kunuri" means the all of the combat actions of US 25th and 2nd Infantry Division during Battle of the Ch'ongch'on River, but from Turkish perspective, the same term only included the combat operations of the Turkish Brigade during the same battle. This is why I find it fitting to change the redirect to the article that included both POVs.

I understand that this battle is a special event in Turkey (which is why I created the Wawon article in the first place), but this does not mean that American interpretation of the same term can be ignored. Jim101 (talk) 03:48, 19 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

According to Battle of Kunu-ri, some writers use this name for the battle fought between Chai Chung-yü's 114th Division and Tahsin Yazci's Turkish Brigade (Battle of Wawon), others use it for the battle engaged by 2nd Infantry Division. Now we have to make disambiguation page(s). What do you think of this idea ? Takabeg (talk) 03:57, 19 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

That is workable. Jim101 (talk) 03:58, 19 June 2011 (UTC)Reply
I finished the disambig page. Jim101 (talk) 04:11, 19 June 2011 (UTC)Reply
