Condescension edit

Is it just me, or does this article seem to be extraordinarily condescending?--Chobbs138 03:19, 20 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Snatch squad edit

  • (User:Police,Mad,Jack complained about me moving text from Baton charge to new page Snatch squad.)
    • I have seen "batoncharge" as one word plenty of times in newspapers here in England.
    • A snatch squad is not the same as a straight batoncharge, and I felt that the snatch squad description belonged on its own page. Also, the text "Usually when large demonstrations take place that are deemed unstable, the territorial police force responsible for the demonstration in that area will usually deply Police Support Unit personnel who are trained in riot tactics, along with normal divisional officers. If the demonstration turns violent," look more like it belonged on the general page Riot control. Anthony Appleyard (talk) 08:59, 15 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
  • I think that my content has a place in Snatch Squad because we need to explain what and how the divisional service polices these events, and what I wrote I believe is the correct way. Police,Mad,Jack (talk · contribs) 09:04, 15 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
  • I moved the missing matter to Riot control#Tactics. Anthony Appleyard (talk) 09:06, 15 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Lathi Charge edit

One reference to a news article using the word does not prove that it is used more often than "baton charge". Not that I am disputing the claim, but a better source is needed if we are to follow Wikipedia's standard of not doing original research. Also, the linked article uses the word "lathicharge" as a single word. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 202.51.16.254 (talk) 11:12, 3 June 2011 (UTC)Reply
