No mention of troubles either edit

They have had lots of legal issues lately, from suing a customer for defamation, to being sued by customers for a variety of reasons (stopping bidding on cars, forcing owners to buy back their own cars, etc). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.12.190.131 (talk) 22:49, 19 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Barrett-Jackson 2005 or 2006? edit

nostoc 17:57, 2 February 2006 (UTC)Wasn't the description listed for the 2006 show (I remember the Futureliner but thought it sold for $4,000,000 even after some confusion about a bid for 4.1)? If so Alice Cooper was also there. If the text is from 2005, we should update it for the more recent show (imho).Reply

Perhaps it's worth dividing some of the sales records by year? Yes, the Futurliner was $4 mil even but this doesn't include commission costs. Yeah, $5 mil for Shelby's Cobra. Wow. fruitofwisdom 01:55, 21 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

"Prestigious" edit

The word is used three times in the first four sentences. I am going to remove two of them, without debating whether it is truly an encyclopedic term. human 20:42, 25 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Auction controversy? edit

I expected some word here about Barrett-Jackson's auction at WestWorld on 27 January 2007 which embroiled the company and its owner, Craig Jackson, in controversy. Not a word in this article, which frankly reads like some kind of PR piece. Can anyone help provide a balanced perspective on this? -- SwissCelt 00:45, 15 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Like any Wiki article, if you find something is wrong, write your own corrections and cite the sources. Anyway, there is a link to the Ramchargers lawsuit now. -- Jacob Poon 00:25, 12 December 2007 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jacob Poon (talkcontribs) {{{2}}}

Notability edit

It is the most well-known automobile auction in the nation. 67.188.172.165 02:23, 17 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Charity or Philanthropic Arm edit

The first Barrett-Jackson auction was a fundraiser for local charities - is this still happening today? I watch the auction, see thousands of people with too much disposable income, and hope that there is still a philanthropic mission from Barrett-Jackson. While I understand that using this much disposable income to purchase a fancy car is considered an investment, and the bidders may personally donate to charities on their own, I really hope that Barrett-Jackson has continued the tradition of supporting local charities. Charity or Philanthropic Arm edit

In 2007, Barrett-Jackson helped raise more than $4 million for local and national charities. http://www.barrett-jackson.com/media/presskits/PB07/other/Charity%20Post%20Event%20Release%20FINAL.pdf--Twomuch (talk) 02:23, 20 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Too much like an ad,,, edit

I've deleted parts on their Las Vegas sale, Insurance and memorbilia sections that read like advertsiments.

Example...when discussing the B-J brand of auto paints..."Check it out at www...." —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bassetman4 (talkcontribs) 00:09, 22 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Two sections on Scottsdale edit

Does anyone know why there are two sections on Scottsdale results? Also, one shows the sale with buyer's premium and one shows without. 72Dino (talk) 01:39, 21 January 2013 (UTC)Reply
