Three British lords bear or bore the title Baron Browne and three more that of Baron Brown (see Lord Browne and the disambiguation hatnote to this article). This seems to have a lot of good material but at the moment it reads more like a liner note or press release than an encyclopedia article. I have nothing against different styles to suit the subject, and am a dedicated foe of uniformity for its own sake on Wikipedia, but too casual a style (such as using the artist's first name rather than "Browne") can sometimes suggest to readers that the material isn't seriously grounded or reliable. There are also publicists' superlatives like "versatile", "sought-after" and "prestigious", which haven't been backed by third-party WP:Reliable sources (for example, quoting an uninvolved jazz reviewer) or evidence from the rest of the article. After looking at the article history, I see why: the 2005 creator said it was copied from Vital Information's web site (now defunct) with permission. But you can find essentially the same wording in Baron Browne's Myspace page. Music isn't my Wikipedia speciality, although I love jazz, but I think the policy is not to just copy and paste an artist's own publicity without editing and adding more stuff — which has been fitfully, and I think sparingly, done by a few other editors since 2005. —— Shakescene (talk) 02:39, 15 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
