Name

Shouldn't it be moved from Barnsley Public Hall Disaster to Barnsley Public Hall disaster? Other articles such as Italian Hall disaster and Bath School disaster are capitalised thusly. GiantSnowman 01:59, 20 November 2009 (UTC)

Page move

This page was moved to "Barnsley Public hall stampede" without discussion in September 2015 with the edit summary more precise. I don't know about that; the OED says a stampede is A sudden rush and flight of a body of panic-stricken cattle, or A sudden or unreasoning rush or flight of persons in a body or mass, neither of which really applies here: The cause of this disaster was too many people in a narrow stairwell, which is the definition of a Human crush. But in any event it is no reason to move the page from a stable title which accords to WP:TITLE, ie. It is both non-judgemental and the name that is most commonly used... in a significant majority of reliable sources. A quick Google search for “Barnsley Public Hall disaster” gives 278,000 hits, while “Barnsley Public Hall stampede” has just 36,000, with mixed results (disaster, stampede) and significant number of mirrors. So I've moved it back. If anyone is unhappy with this I suggest it be taken to WP:RM for a wider discussion. Moonraker12 (talk) 00:42, 30 September 2019 (UTC)
