The present author of this biography submitted similar text to several media upon the death of the subject, Barbara McMartin. Those media include, but are not limited to, ADKSportFitness, The Albany Times-Union newspaper, The Schectady Gazette, Adirondack Life, Adirondack Explorer, Hamilton County News, Adirondack Daily Enterprise, and the Utica Observer Dispatch. The AP wire service picked up the story and from there, portions appeared in the Boston Globe.
