In the history section, what does "Bangui conference of public health officials" mean?
Elaborated
I am not sure I understand what this sentence means (in the "Customs" sub-section): "When a person dies in Bangui, a representative from his/her village always attends the funeral to show to the dead soul the way to his/her village to retain the bond to the day."
Revised with a quote to make it clear
These sentences from the "Music" sub-section needs correction and/or clarification: "The rich music tradition of the country is showcased in Bangui and also musicians also perform in many countries abroad." and "The innovative music based dance bands with their adaptation of Congolese music with electronic medium are rhythmic and they blend the rumba, cha-cha, and merengue."
Done
I believe that "the river" mentioned in the "Sports" sub-section and the linked picture refer to the Ubangi river? In that case, please mention the name of the river.
Mentioned
Please mention that in the caption to the picture too.
Done
What is the significance of this quote in the "History" section: "it was the only place in the world where I have seen almost the entire French community drunk at 10 o'clock in the morning".
2a. it contains a list of all references (sources of information), presented in accordance with the layout style guideline.
References 10 and 11 are dead (I have marked them using Checklinks)
Both references open in my computer. Kindly recheck
Okay. :)
Links 24 and 25 are dead. Please replace them.
Locating alt sources. Fixed new sources and added more text
2b. reliable sources are cited inline. All content that could reasonably be challenged, except for plot summaries and that which summarizes cited content elsewhere in the article, must be cited no later than the end of the paragraph (or line if the content is not in prose).
No citation provided for this (in the "History" section): "Bozizé went into exile in Chad but later ended Patassé's presidency when he assumed power in the country in a coup in March 2003 and the situation in the city, sometimes called the 'Republic of Bangui', had improved." Also, what is the point of the latter part of this sentence?
Revised with more text and referenced
The lead mentions that Bangui "was named as one of the most dangerous cities in the world". Which organisation named it? Also, this is not included in the main body, and does not have a source.
The book source published in 2009 was referred. It is now included in the history section and date has been changed to 1996. It could be deleted also at both places though the ground situation in CAR even in 2012 was very tense
In the history section, the statement "His successor, General André Kolingba, suspended the constitution and implemented the transition to the Military Committee for National Recovery, but he established a de facto military dictatorship." is unsourced. This seems like an important piece of information, so what happened after that?
Fixed reference and elaborated. The health conference part has been shifted to health section and the population statistics shifted to Demographics section
In the "Transport" section, the sentence "There are plans to connect Bangui by rail with the Transcameroon Railway and maintenance of the communications infrastructure." is both unsourced and confusing.
Additional comment: Any reason why the three sentences on health care are provided in the "economy" section? --smarojitHD 16:04, 30 July 2013 (UTC)Reply
Shifted to a separate section on Health.
Dr.Blofeld and myself were involved in the DYK. I also edited and enlarged the bibliography section and corrected some other sections before it was posted on GA. I have replied to all the observations. I hope it is ok now.--Nvvchar. 23:16, 30 July 2013 (UTC)Reply
Comment: Please ensure that there aren't any instances of overlinking in the prose. Currently, there are several such instances. Also, the third and fourth mention of "AIDS" has been wikilinked, while the first one hasn't been. So please link only the first occurrence of the word. --smarojitHD 02:19, 31 July 2013 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for the review. Hopefully, I have removed extra links and addressed all other issues.--Nvvchar. 04:39, 31 July 2013 (UTC)Reply
Will come back later in the day after finding new sources for the dead links.--Nvvchar. 15:04, 31 July 2013 (UTC)Reply
Addressed all other issues raised by you.--Nvvchar. 19:28, 31 July 2013 (UTC)Reply
Good job. I am passing the article. :) --smarojitHD 05:31, 1 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
